Today is the day! Battlefield 3 goes live! Might consider following them on twitter, there’s always some sort of launch issue or downtime updates via this quicker.

Since the NDA (or whatever sort of one there was is bound to be all but gone, here are some screenshots I took during the Open Beta sessions!

So, did you take the dive? Did you get the Collectors Edition? If so, where’d you order from?

BF3: Are You Pre-Loaded?

Posted by Dravin on October 23, 2011

Emails were sent out both Thursday and Friday (randomly it appears) that you could now access EA’s Origin and pre-load Battlefield 3, so you’re nice and ready for game launch day on October 25th (even though I’ll be at work, and its our one-month wedding anniversary, aww ;p). My pre-load had errors galore, I probably restarted it a dozen times over Friday and Saturday. Anyhow, it downloaded great last night, and it says ready to play (if you click Play it checks the date, then says not yet, or something like that).

You can still pre-order and get the ‘Limited Edition’ (until launch day): Pre-Order BF3.

10 Best Sci-fi TV Shows?!

Posted by Dravin on October 22, 2011

Found this interesting link from Newsarama.com, who I like to follow because they always have a ton of interesting stories, but this one in particular caught my eye. I mean its entitled, “10 Best Sci-fi TV Shows”, here’s a brief commentary, and see the link below. Come back and let me know what you thought, or what your top ten would be!

Now this is a numbing prospect. Take all of the science-fiction shows ever, and determine a top ten? Who wants that kind of fan umbrage on their head? We do!

Granted, we’ll miss some favorites of some devoted fans (you, in the back, with the “Misfits of Science” shirt on, we’re talking to you!). But, as it is, we’re going to make an honest effort to determine what’s the best.

Doctor Who: Christmas Special Details!

Posted by Dravin on October 21, 2011

Looks like the Doctor Who Magazine Issue 440 will have some more details, when it comes out on October 20th (yesterday!)  including this little bit of casting information (spoliers? Sorta …but since I don’t recognize any names, I say no! hah).

Claire Skinner – Madge Arwell
Alexander Armstrong – Reg Arwell
Maurice Cole – Cyril Arwell
Holly Earl – Lily Arwell
Arabella Weir – Billis
Bill Bailey – Dorxil
Paul Bazely – Ven-Garr

Monster performers Paul Kasey and Spencer Wilding also return to the show in, as of yet, unnamed characters. There’s more info included in the magazine which is released tomorrow.

As well as a synopsis for the Doctor Who Christmas Special:

The special, set during the Second World War, sees Madge Arwell and her two children, Lily and Cyril, evacuated to a draughty old house in Dorset, where the caretaker is a mysterious young man in a bow tie, and a big blue parcel is waiting for them under the tree. They are about to enter a magical new world and learn that a Time Lord never forgets his debts.
