Doctor Who: Happy Birthday Karen Gillan (Amy Pond)!

Posted by Dravin on November 28, 2011

Guess Who?! It’s Karen Gillan‘s birthday today! Most of you may better her know as the Doctor’s current companion (and I believe longest running one since Rose!).

Strangely enough her birthday also falls on the newly famous ‘Cyber Monday’, or as I’ve recently seen it called ‘Cyberman Monday’!

Posted by Dravin on November 23, 2011

Well, today is a special today! ‘Doctor Who’ turns 48! Talk about an amazing feat! Awesome :)

On 23 November, 1963, the first episode of Doctor Who was broadcast. Entitled An Unearthly Child it starred William Hartnell as the Doctor and introduced the world to this mysterious traveler and his incredible time machine known as the TARDIS.

Four Decades of Police Box Modifications

I found this fantastic read about the change of the TARDIS over the years of Doctor Who! Check it out:
Four Decades of Police Box Modifications

Not everyone realises that the TARDIS in Doctor Who has changed many times, and those that do many not realise quite how much it changed. Then again, maybe the differences are only visible to those amongst us who don’t get out enough – Those whose lives are enlivened by doing diagrams such as the one above showing the main TARDIS props to scale.I am unhealthily delighted by creating such diagrams, and if seeing such a diagram delights you, then read on! (see link above)!

Doctor Who: Christmas Special Details!

Posted by Dravin on October 21, 2011

Looks like the Doctor Who Magazine Issue 440 will have some more details, when it comes out on October 20th (yesterday!)  including this little bit of casting information (spoliers? Sorta …but since I don’t recognize any names, I say no! hah).

Claire Skinner – Madge Arwell
Alexander Armstrong – Reg Arwell
Maurice Cole – Cyril Arwell
Holly Earl – Lily Arwell
Arabella Weir – Billis
Bill Bailey – Dorxil
Paul Bazely – Ven-Garr

Monster performers Paul Kasey and Spencer Wilding also return to the show in, as of yet, unnamed characters. There’s more info included in the magazine which is released tomorrow.

As well as a synopsis for the Doctor Who Christmas Special:

The special, set during the Second World War, sees Madge Arwell and her two children, Lily and Cyril, evacuated to a draughty old house in Dorset, where the caretaker is a mysterious young man in a bow tie, and a big blue parcel is waiting for them under the tree. They are about to enter a magical new world and learn that a Time Lord never forgets his debts.

Minecraft: Weeping Angels Mod!

Posted by Dravin on October 16, 2011

I’ll be honest – as much fun as Minecraft looks like it is, I just haven’t had the time or desire to dive into something else that will fully consume my time. I’ve got enough real-life things going on, and a number of games to enjoy. So I’ve passed over it – anyhow … they make mods for Minecraft (as they do for many games), and if you are a Doctor Who fan, then you will love this, even just watching this will make you chuckle a few times! Enjoy!
